Tablet computers, often abbreviated as tablets, are considered portable devices with a mobile operating system, a touchscreen processing system, and rechargeable batteries in a compact and flat case. Tablets are computers. They can do the same things that personal computers do but lack specific input/output (I/O) capabilities that other devices possess. Tablets of the present are similar to modern smartphones. The main distinction is that they are more significant than smartphones, having screens of 7 inches (18 centimetres) or more in diagonal measurement, and might not have access to a cell network.
Touchscreen displays are controlled through gestures performed using a finger or a digital pen (stylus) rather than the more prominent keyboards, mouse, and keyboard. Two types of tablet, the booklet and slate, are not equipped with physical keyboards. They typically accept input from text or other sources using a virtual keyboard on their touchscreens. To make up for the absence of a keyboard that is physically accessible, the majority of tablets connect to physical keyboards using Bluetooth or USB, and 2-in-1 computers have keyboards that differ from tablets.
